For the past 15 years I've had episodes of hip pain. Several times while walking downhill at the end of a strenuous hike, I experienced so much pain in my left hip area that I literally hobbled. I began to fear that I might need a hip replacement.
Last summer my husband and I spent two weeks in Istanbul, Turkey. I walked 8 to 10 miles each day through the fascinating streets of that incredible city. Whenever the hip acted up, I did some "home baked chiropractic". I had discovered that by turning my left foot outward while twisting my hip to the right, I caused some kind of shift to occur that would keep me going for another few miles.
This wasn't any kind of long-term solution. When my daughter recommended Body of Light, I took advantage of a special offer to obtain an evaluation and report of findings. It turned out that my insurance would cover most of the cost; I know I was very fortunate in that regard.
Dr. David immediately spotted the problem: my pelvis was seriously out of alignment. We worked together over several months, supplemented by the cat/cow yoga position and frequent stretches on a big ball. Not only did my pelvis align and my hip pain disappear—my posture and gait also improved markedly. I began to sleep more soundly. I just felt better in general—stronger, more flexible, and free of pain. These effects have been lasting, even after I tapered off my visits to every two weeks, then once a month.
I have a high pain threshold, and had been living with this pain for years. Now I see that I don't have to do that. Chiropractic is a beneficial approach that can contribute to health and well being in profound ways. Now I recommend Body of Light Family Chiropractic to friends. I'm very grateful to Drs. David and Melody for creating an environment of caring and healing.
