Dr. David H. Spear, Ph.D., DC

David H. Spear, Ph.D., DC

David received his Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He later earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry from UCLA. In the course of his graduate studies, David patented a novel technique for introducing DNA into cells; this procedure is now licensed to Stratagene, a biotechnology company. Although research was intellectually stimulating, David eventually found it to be lacking in heart and purpose. After much soul searching and a profound personal healing experience with chiropractic care, David was inspired to enroll at Life Chiropractic College West where the college invited him to join the faculty. David served as assistant professor of biochemistry at LCCW, while pursuing his Doctorate of Chiropractic. This was the perfect combination of science and heart. David graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2000.

Dr. Melody Spear, DC

Melody Spear, DC

Melody received her Bachelor of Arts degree in dance from Bennington College. Her interest in movement and health initially led her to become a licensed massage therapist and holistic health counselor. Her desire to know more about the inner workings and healing abilities of the body/mind brought her to Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California. Melody graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2001, and was awarded the highest honor for clinical excellence.

Stacey Zeigler, CA

Stacey relocated to Eugene from the Seattle area several years ago. Her husband is an Oregon native so they’re thrilled to be back "home" and to have left Seattle traffic behind.  Stacey has two young girls, and enjoys volunteering at their school. When not cheering on her kids from the sidelines of their sports activities, she can be found running (she just completed her first marathon) or reading a good book. Stacey loves working in an environment where the doctors and staff genuinely care about clients' well-being and are committed to helping them achieve their best wellness outcomes.

Melea, LMT, CA

Melea grew up in the Eugene area, then left for about 10 years to travel, ultimately spending 4.5 years living, working and playing in the Caribbean. Upon returning to the U.S. Melea became a mother to her beautiful, now 7 year old son. She wanted her son to enjoy all of the beauty and opportunity that comes with growing up in the Willamette Valley and so returned to Eugene in 2015 and is so happy to be home. Melea initially came to massage therapy as a client, and found tremendous relief and healing from the experience. She chose to pursue massage as a therapist because she felt moved to provide the same benefit and relief to others.

Tricia, LMT

Tricia grew up in New Hampshire where she attended Massage school at River Valley College. She was intrigued by the west coast and naturally minded healthcare so in 2012 she started working at a wellness center and chiropractic office in Portland, OR.

Four years ago she began her journey as a mother and spends much of her time exploring parks and hiking with her adventurous little boy. She is brand new to Eugene and excited to get to know the town and families.

Tricia specializes in Myofascial Release Massage and often blends this technique into her massage work. MFR focuses on finding restrictions in the connective tissue and breaking them apart to eliminate pain and restore motion.  MFR is especially helpful in treating Motor Vehicle accidents and the soft tissue damage that is caused.

As a mother she easily connects with and has an intuitive touch for pre and post natal massage patients.

Tricia strongly believes that massage is a powerful preventative medicine and has seen the benefits in her own life since committing  to monthly massages.

Personally she has seen a reduction of stress, improved circulation, and a stronger immune system.

She is trained in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Pregnancy Massage and is looking forward to joining the team at body of light and sharing this journey of healing with the community in Eugene.
